Britney | Washington, DC Headshot Photographer

Happy Monday lovelies!

Still catching up on posting from the last couple of months so I have 3 headshot sessions to share with you today :) Let’s kick things off with Britney!

I worked with Britney and her beautiful family earlier this year and they were an absolute joy to work with. Fast-forward a few months and Britney has just completed a rebrand to Britney Jeanine Photography! So of course she needed updated headshots to match her new look and I couldn’t be happier that she asked me to shoot them :)

The day of her session arrives and it feels like the hottest day in October ever! Lol. Kudos to Britney for enduring through the heat and rocking her photos like a pro!

Check out a few of her faves:

Flashback Friday | Summer Night at the Carnival

Happy Friday lovelies :)

So as the week comes to a close, I realize that I have way too many photos from summer that I didn’t share so I’m going to remedy that!

Today I’m sharing a few photos I took for fun at a local carnival with my friend Vanessa.

Ok so there’s a story behind this… I’d been wanting to take pictures at a carnival for a while now but every year I keep missing them! Finally make it to one while it’s still in town and of course Vanessa and I get there late lol. It’s dark, but low light is no problem for my trusty D700 :) We take a few pictures and then decide we want to get on some rides! Sounds like a good idea right?

Well, I haven’t been on a ride/roller coaster/anything in years. I don’t remember the last time I’ve been on one but I generally do like them. Sooo the first ride we got on? Pictured above. My stomach was turned upside down and inside out! Forgot to mention that I’ve never been on a carnival ride before. Apparently they just go around and around and around and around and around and around and around in circles lol. I mean, you would think I would have gathered that from seeing them, but I guess you don’t get the full experience until you’re actually ON the ride and it just keeps going in circles (insert dizzy emoticon here).

I try to man up (because Vanessa was calling me an old lady lol) and we go get on another ride because we bought 40 ride tickets. So what do we get on? The swings lol. That was a bad decision. We weren’t even midway into the ride and I immediately felt like I had to throw up. I’m sooo thankful I had an empty stomach because the folks standing under the ride would have been very upset with me otherwise. The ride operator was kind enough to stop the ride early because Vanessa asked him to and a little kid in front of me said “This lady’s gonna vomit!” LOL! I can laugh now but I felt sooo bad smh. I don’t think I’ve ever had motion sickness that bad before… so now I’m worried that maybe in my old age I can’t do roller coasters anymore lol. Guess I’ll have to get on a real one (that doesn’t just go in circles) and test it out.

Anyway so that’s my carnival story! Lol

Before all of that happened, we took pictures (the reason for this post :) and here are a few of my favorites. Vanessa even snapped a few of me!

A little random, but I love it! Thanks Vanessa :)

That’s all for today! I hope you have a great weekend :)

Danielle | Washington, DC Headshot Photographer

Next up for today is Danielle!

Danielle and I recently linked back up through the #GoodPeopleProject with Paul Carrick Brunson and when I realized she was still using the headshots I shot for her over 3 years ago, I knew we had to remedy the situation lol.

They were pretty cool for where I was at the time:

But they’re no longer an accurate representation of my work so I figured we needed to update that :)

Danielle is a super talented writer, editor, blogger, and creative consultant. She has her own blog- The Black Snob- which is actually how we linked up in the first place years ago! She also writes for Clutch Magazine, was recently a speaker at Essence Magazine’s Women’s Conference, and has received numerous awards for her writing. (You can read all about her here! :) So with all that being the case, she definitely needed new pictures to compliment her awesomeness.

Check out a few of my faves from her session:

Catherine | Washington, DC Headshot Photographer

Happy Wednesday lovelies!

This weather is making me want to do a happy dance! Lol. After ALL of that rain last week, I’m soo happy to see sunshine and blue skies.

Today I have a couple headshot sessions to share with you! First up, is Catherine!

Catherine was the winner of our 3k Instagram Giveaway a couple months ago and put her win towards a headshot session! Catherine would like to begin a health and wellness blog so winning the contest came right on time for her.

We got together on a warm September afternoon and shared tons of laughs! Catherine has such a warm personality and that came through radiantly in her pictures. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos from her session!

Celebrating 10 Years! | Washington, DC Lifestyle Photographer

I have known this beautiful couple for quite some time… over 10 years actually! My brother shot their New York wedding in September 2003 and I was so happy to gift them with a 10 year anniversary photo session.

They don’t look at all like they’ve been married 10 years but that’s definitely a good thing. They are still just as silly and as in love (I’d say even more so now) than they were when they got married!

This is what 10 years of love looks like :)
