Happy Daylight Savings Day! 

Ya'll, I'm exhausted. This losing an hour business is tough on its own, but even more so when you already have trouble sleeping 😩 BUT... I can say that I am pretty happy about this extra hour of dayliiiiight! (you have to sing that part) lol.

So to celebrate the return of longer days with more glorious sunshine, I have some pretty pictures to share with you ^_^ Featuring my lovely model Xiomelie, gorgeous makeup by Denni, and yummy light courtesy of the sun! ☀️✨

Do you see this hair?! Denni and I couldn't get over how gorgeous Xi's hair was! So it definitely took center stage in some of the shots 😍

Our fun didn't stop when the sun went down though 💁🏽 Although I don't do it often, I do love shooting at night when the inspiration hits!

2018 Headshot Special | Specials

Following up on last week's Brand Guide Freebie- As promised, I have something special for you! What is it?
 

The 2018 Headshot Special!
 

Typically, the only specials I hold are the seasonal Lifestyle Mini Specials (which will be coming soon btw- Spring Minis will be held on May 5 & 6 so save the date if you'd like to snag one! Booking for the Spring Mini Special will open mid March) BUT, this year I decided to try something new in the meantime :)

I want 2018 to be YOUR year! To get it off to a strong start, why not update your headshots!

Here are the details

The Mini Headshot Special will be booked in 60 minute increments- with makeup taking place first, photo session to follow.

This special is $425 and includes the following: 
- Professional makeup application for 1
- 20 minute headshot session for 1* 
- One outfit
- Your choice of 3 retouched high-resolution images (w/ option to purchase additional)

*Full body photos will be included, for a diverse final gallery to choose from!

To take advantage of this special: You must be located in (or willing to travel to) the Washington, DC Area (Alexandria, VA). Your session must be booked no later than February 1, to be photographed on February 24. All headshot sessions will be photographed at an awesome indoor (and outdoor- weather permitting) location in Northern Virginia!

Booking opens first to the mailing list, then to the general public, so if you want a greater likelihood of securing your preferred time for specials in the future, you should probably sign up :)

Mommy & Me: Morgan + Maddie | Washington, DC Family Photographer

Happy Friday to you!

I am soo thrilled to share these images with you today! 

Last fall, I briefly launched a line of headwraps and the response was amazing! (I'm still undecided on if/when the next collection will launch FYI lol), but my lovely client & friend Morgan reached out and told me she wanted to do her family's annual fall mini session with my headwraps!

Below are a few snaps from our previous fall family sessions together:

I was so excited for this session! Not only because I love working with her & her daughter Madison, and that they'd be wearing my headwraps, but Morgan also gave me complete creative control. Did I tell you I have the best clients? I do!

I decided to keep the wardrobe all black so that the headwraps would pop and their looks would mimic the location I chose, and to split the mini session in two- the first half with sweet mommy & me portraits, the second half with a Beyonce-inspired tribal makeup change.

Ya'll. They did not come to play! Well, Maddie did because she's 3, but you know what I mean lol. I couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out, so I'm super excited to share these with you!

Picking back up on my mission to share my backlogged 2016 sessions, today I am sharing a super fun business session I did with my beautiful friend and mentee Stacy!

Stacy is a wonderfully talented Orlando photographer! We first met early last year for mentoring sessions 101 and 102 in Orlando, and last October she visited DC for my styled mentee shoot and her own business photo session!

When I tell you we had so much fun, that is an understatement!

It is such a pleasure working with genuine people and Stacy is just that. Just as kind as she is beautiful, it is always a joy to spend time together :)

Good Sunday evening to you!

I hope your weekend was a pleasant one :) I am writing this at the end of a very busy weekend of shooting and gearing up for what might rival last year as my busiest fall season ever!

I didn't get a chance to blog much (or any) of the sessions in their entirety from last fall, so I'm going to begin sharing now and will hopefully catch up by the time the season ends lol.
