Next up on the blog this afternoon: Sonia and her beautiful boys!

I was so happy to meet up with Sonia and her boys Houston and Dallas for their mini session last month. I worked with Sonia a few years ago on a mini project I put together so it was great to reunite :)

Dallas is quite possibly one of the smiliest babies I’ve ever come across and it was a joy to photograph him! Houston is a little more on the serious side so we had to work for the smiles you see lol.

All in all it was a great afternoon and they walked away with some fun new family photos :)

Happy Monday loves!

Back in action this week and I have tons and tons of things to share!

Last month I had the opportunity to meet my name twin: Danielle Finney! I was so happy to see she won our last giveaway AND that she was in the area! Her family drove down from Wilmington, DE for their shoot last month and we had a great time!

It was so nice meeting my extended fam.. We haven’t figured out the connection yet, but I’m sure it’s there somewhere :) Another fun fact: Danielle actually favors my oldest sister- even my parents thought so! 

This was an anniversary session with a few family photos sprinkled in. Danielle and her husband have been together since they were 13, just recently celebrated their 13th anniversary, and it’s 2013! (I just needed to find something else that had 13 in it lol)

November Happenings!

Happy Tuesday all!

You guys… It’s been a month since my last post! (sad face). This past month has been anything BUT typical and has definitely been my most exciting month since beginning DFinney Photography!

So what’s been going on??

At the end of October I was wrapping up my presentation for the Blink Conference and getting everything together for that, but also had both an engagement and mentor session the weekend before the conference- where I ended up dropping and breaking my beloved 50/1.4! Fortunately Tiffany (my mentee) shot Nikon as well so we were able to switch lenses for the practice session with our lovely couple.

The Blink Conference was the first weekend in November and it was great!! So great that they’ve already sold out for Blink 2014!! I’m so happy for Ike & Tash and really excited to see where they will take this :) I will be sharing an official recap of my first conference experience- especially about my presentation!! :D But for now, you can take a look at fellow photographer and conference attendee Terri Baskins’ recap HERE! 

The following weekend, I had a senior session and another fun mentor session.

Aaaand this past weekend I was in Cleveland to shoot an engagement session for one of my December weddings. Just a quick trip, but I had a great time! Here are a few sneak peeks from their session:

Whew! So as you can see, October and early November have been pretty much non-stop. Definitely looking forward to knocking out these December weddings and having a bit of relaxation in January :)

Last but certainly not least is Andrea!

I’ve been a fan of Andrea’s blog Fly for quite a few years now and even had the privilege of working with her a couple years ago to photograph her Fly Five Anniversary party!

Next up, we have Sylvia!

Sylvia reached out last month to take a few headshots for her new business venture, Curls Understood. They will also be used for her existing business- CORALthirteen, a small design firm! Of course you know I love her brand :) Two coral lovers? We were made to work together lol.

We met up on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for her session and we had a great time chatting about owning small businesses, natural hair, travel, and everything in between. Sylvia is actually from London and (like almost everyone else) I love English accents so I loved listening to her talk lol :)

We had a great time and took a lots of great photos!
