Last but certainly not least today- a special giveaway! 

Due to unforeseen circumstances with an attendee, I now have an opening for the upcoming Miami Group Mentor Session 101 on Friday, June 12! So instead of letting the spot go to waste,  I’d like to give the seat away to someone deserving!

TO ENTER, JUST COMPLETE THESE 3 EASY STEPS:

1. Send an email to me (danielle@dfinneyphoto.com) telling me why you deserve to win the seat! (you don’t have to write a novel lol) If you choose to, that’s fine too :)

2. Follow @dfinneyphoto on instagram.

3. Repost the giveaway flyer on your instagram with the hashtag #dfinneyinmiami. Be sure your account is public so that it’s visible- hashtags aren’t visible on private accounts!

Houston 102 Group Session [March 14] | Washington, DC Photography Mentor

Next up today? The second day of my Houston mentoring- Session 102!

I’m loving how these sessions are generally a little more intimate as we go in depth on how to refine business practices so as to be more effective.

I even (reluctantly) stepped in front of the camera for a few, but surprisingly, despite the fact that I don’t love my hair, I actually love these shots lol. Thanks Dani & Jay :) ^^^ I LOVE this one Dani! Ha! Thanks for this capture Jay- here is the selfie we were taking lol. Jay managed to capture a good deal of my randomness in photos and for that I am grateful lol (not all photos will be shared so as to protect the innocent- ME lol)

Houston 101 Group Session [March 13] | Washington, DC Photography Mentor

Happy Monday beautiful people and welcome to June! Can you believe that we’re almost halfway through the year?! The past 5 months have been a blur! A wonderful blur, but a blur nonetheless lol. 

2015 has been a year full of teaching so far and I have had a great time meeting and working with so many great photographers! I can’t tell you how awesome it is to see someone have a lightbulb moment and finally “get it”! There’s nothing like it and it never gets old :)

Well this was an unexpectedly long intro! Sometimes I get long-winded when I talk about this lol. It’s Mentor Monday though and I finally am aiming to catch up on these March recaps lol.

So today? I’m super happy to share this fun Houston session! We had such a great time and took some awesome lifestyle photos in this beautiful space :)

And a quick trip outside for a little outdoor natural light practice :)

“My 101: Master Natural Light Shooting Session was just the shot in the arm I needed. Danielle has the knack for making all things photography seem so simple! Case in point, shooting using the Kelvin white balance. For some reason I was frightened to even give it a try. Yet she demystified it and made it so easy. Bye-bye Expo Disc. The day only got better from there! I love how Danielle’s photos look and couldn’t wait to learn her technique. My how surprised I was to learn she does very little to her photos in Lightroom and Photoshop but that it’s mostly done with correct settings in camera first. Eye opening for me!

Overall I was very satisfied with the level of instruction and the format of the session. It was well worth my time and travel. 

Thanks Danielle for being so open and giving with your time and experience. I will recommend you to everyone I know.”

DC 101 Group Session [March 7] | Washington, DC Photography Mentor

Happy Monday loves! It’s time for another edition of Mentor Monday here on the blog :)

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to tackle the week with enthusiasm- I am! Lol. I actually have an exciting week coming up as I’ll be heading to Chicago to teach a couple classes and shoot a beautiful wedding this weekend. It’ll definitely be a busy week, but I’m looking forward to it.

In the meantime between time, I have mentoring recaps to share! I’m finally (almost) caught up with editing so that means I’ll have to lots to share in the weeks to come :)

Today I’ll be recapping my DC 101 session from early March! I can’t tell you how much fun I had with these ladies- it was a freezing late winter day, but we kept cozy in this gorgeous space with AWESOME light!

So much fun with our sweet model Virgie, who even brought homemade cookies for us!

When I saw what the weather was going to be like, I planned to do a nice cozy indoor session with her and things couldn’t have worked out more perfectly!

Thanks Valerie for these great behind the scenes shots! I’ve lost count of how many hair fixing behind the scenes shots that have been captured over the years lol.

Ahh! These shots are so cozy! Like they make ME want to curl up and write lol

Titilayo | Washington, DC Lifestyle Photographer

Happy Friday fabulous people!

So I did say I was supposed to be catching up on blogging right? Lol

Well… this week kind of took a different turn and I ended up massively productive on the editing front (instead of the blogging front :) I got FIFTEEN sessions completed! :D So I have absolutely no complaints there, but I didn’t want to let the week end without sharing at least one session! So I introduce you to Titilayo!

This was actually my first session of the year back in February and Titilayo’s first day of 44! Yes, 44! She doesn’t look her age AT ALL, does she?! it was a COLD late winter day but Titi’s personality (and the sun lol) helped warm things up. She brought major fun and liveliness to these photos :)
